The location of this large home is situated so central to the beaches, Sydney central business district (CBD), Neutral Bay Bus interchange ( 3 -5 minutes to the city) , shopping and wonderful Lower North Shore & exclusive Mosman (argueably the most exclusive suburb in Sydney). This home is literally a short walk to everything in Neutral Bay.

The house is quite large, well appointed and has everything you would need for short stay or long term stays.

This row of houses are historial and built over 100 years ago to service the Tram workers at the time when Sydney had existing Trams.

If you would like a unique travel experience and live in a larger home as they lived in early Sydney (with modern resturants & shoppng a short walk away ofcourse), well this is an experience just for you!

This home is suited to young people sharing with friends, although families would equally appreciate its size and location.

This home may not be a 2 or a 3 star property to all guests, and its certainly not a 4 or 5 star property for all guests either. Do not expect a five star property for the budget price this large home offers. Note the star rating is not Sydney hotel star rating, so all references to star rating is the short term platform. Please see our other listings for properties which are 5 star if this is an important criteria for your stay.

If you are coming to Sydney to work or for a holiday to experience Sydney, you would not be spending huge amount of time at home regardless. This home will be exceptional in the numerous features it does offer when you are at home. Not many houses in Sydney can cater to parking for 3 cars!

Sydney's property prices are extremely high, (even in Global market), so its natural MOST Sydney people will not be able to purchase such a large house as this opportunity presents & offer it on this platform. This is a key reason why not many old large houses like this exist in Neutral Bay for short term stays.

As a wonderful older home with rich early Tram history in Sydney, this home has very high ceilings, floor boards throughout, large rooms and lots of character, including some visible cracks in walls/ceilings , old fire places & decorative lace iron rails.

This house is beautifully set up & we often receive comments such as "love how you set it up beautifully " is a common response.

Children's needs are carefully thought out and always met when you make your booking with us. Lots of kids items are found in the house including all bedding, high chairs, baths, huge toy chest, books & many other essentials and fun things to keep children entertained. We can provide bikes for small children free of charge if you book for 4 weeks or longer, but please advise if you would like this. There are plenty of parks nearby where owners take their dogs for regular walks and even a golf course is walking distance away.

Health Factors

This is a older house but it does not have any mould issues which is quite normal in homes of this age.
If you have any underlying heath issues such as asthma, allergies or breathing conditions where you could be sensitive to specks of any mould or dust exposure - then this house may not be suitable for your needs.
Sydney has many homes which are suffering from mould and dampness from January 2022 due to our unprecedented rains and flooding in many regions. In fact this is quite normal in all houses including our own beautiful home we live in. As stated there is no obvious mould and dust is regularily cleaned at every checkout, but throughout your stay we can't control these factors and its up to guests to minimise these factors as they are common in all homes. In certain conditions such as heaters and closed windows during winter, this may result in mould growth unless checked. This is the same in newer homes. Be aware when you book this house, we do not guarantee the house will remain mould and dust free during your stay. Any concerns you may have about this is entirely your responsibility throughout your booking.

As a matter of fact, with the history of us living in this home some 29 years ago and past tenants, people who are in general good health and dont have any history of respiratory or immunological conditions are unlikely to be effected by these conditions.

PETS

Pets are welcome, maximum of three (3) and additional fees applies for each pet staying.
Airbnb only cater for 1 pet fee but each pet carries a $100 fee and each pet after the 1 will need approval prior to booking your stay. Strick pet rules apply so please read other sections if you intend to bring pet/s.


PARKING REQUIREMENTS

If requiring parking, resident parking pass will be issued as a $50 deposit (for each pass), which will be fully refunded upon vacating to ensuring it is left behind. Max 3 passes available. Parking costs are extra per vehicle per day being $10 per day, per vehicle.
No un-authorised parking of vehicles is permitted and additional fees apply per vehicle of $50 per day who breach parking Signs and parking rules in the "resident parking area only".

As this house was built 100 years ago, you will not find the essential ensuites to every bedroom as you do in todays design. There is only one toilet facility, although this is separated from the rest of the bathroom.
A kids toilet & a spare adult portable one is provided. Heavy use of bathroom facilities may hold up the plumbing in this older home. When booking this home, it is expectant the plumbing may take a little longer to re-adjust. Do not expect perfect plumbing and if any issues arise, no plumbing works will be conducted as the plumbing adjusts itself.
This property may not be appropriate if you expect all facilities to work perfectly. Note- the hot water system is good and no issue with this.

1. WIFI- all works and outages by TPG is not the host responsibility. Maintenance of line works & temporary outages are fully TPG's responsibility. Host often receives notification if works are planned.
2.Please note rules with parking in resident parking areas as displayed for the public in the specified area and explained further in House Rules.
3. Guests need to be mindful plumbing and any issues that arise because of it, is not the sole responsibility of the owner who shares common party lines with neighbours in this historic location. Please note, this location and surrounding homes have always shared a common party line for over 100 years.
4. Everything has been supplied for guests needs, and accurate numbers of people checking in must be given prior to move in to allow sleeping preparation to be met.
5. Sydney has experienced significant and unprecedented rainfall since January 2022 (even unprecedented flooding in many areas-Yet definately not in lower North Shore or Neutral Bay). As a result many older houses have experiend rising damp and or mould. This house does not suffer from any obvious or outbreaks of mould but we do not guarantee this will stay this way during your stay. All guests are required to minimise and wipe surfaces if issues arise and after their use. Mould and dust is in the air internally and externally in all environments so if you have underlying health issues you need to be aware we do not guarantee a mould and dust free home for your entire stay. We take no responsibility of these matters during your stay.

PETS

Pets are allowed but approval is required after the first ,second and third pet prior to booking and an additional fee of $100 applies for each pet with your booking.

Pet fee does not include any extra costs associated with cleaning , resolving issues & or damage the pet/s may have caused. Any significant expenses and additional cleaning as a result of pet/animals staying will be charged as an additional fee to guests.
Pet criteria and expectations are strict as we have had to remind some guests over the years of common sense factors such as please checking for dog poo left in courtyard before you vacate. As we all know, one persons level of cleanliness is not the same as another persons.
Maximum 3 pets if approved.

PARKING

Parking is available and an additional fee applies per day of $10 for each car, per day. A Parking pass must be issued to guests who use the residents parking areas - as its a dedicated area only for certain residents along this historical strip, so special and specific passes are only issued. A bond fee of $50 is charged for each pass and this bond fee is fully refunded when the pass is returned prior to checkout.
Maximum of 3 cars is allowed. No un-authorised parking is allowed and additional fees of $50 per day applies to each car /motorbike which illegally parks in this area.

All car registration details are required to be given if you use the shared residence parking area.
