Barrenjoey Lighthouse

Barrenjoey Road

About This Attraction

The Barrenjoey Headland stands across Pittwater from the main park section just north of Palm Beach on the outer reaches of suburban Sydney. Built of the attractive Hawkesbury sandstone at Barrenjoey Head, the Barrenjoey Lighthouse was the third light on the headland and was completed in 1881. From Barrenjoey Lighthouse you can look back on Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Broken Bay, or up and down the coastline north of Sydney. The lighthouse can only be accessed by a one kilometre walk along a rough walking track from the car park.
