Mermaids Pools

A short walk along the Bargo River begining at the Rockford Road Bridge (take Rockford Road from Tahmoor, after crossing the Rockford Bridge turn right on Charles Point Road) and winding it's way through spectacular sandstone hills. After reaching a flat rock the track splits in two, with one track (The Naked Way) taking walkers along a ridge on an easy walk. The other track follows the Bargo River (The Potholes Track) and involves some rock hopping. Both tracks meet up on the Matilda Track which leads to a short track down to The See Through Pool, or continue to the Mermaids Pool and Lookout Area. Caution: do not allow young children to roam unattended as the area has steep cliffs as well as water hazards. Take your own drinking water and food as no facilities exist. Allow 1.5 hours return walking time. This is a Grade Four walk.
