The historic North Fort, home of The National Artillery Museum is developing into a significant tourist venue. The fortifications and tunnel system are its focal point. The museum collections of old and not so old guns, equipment and memorabilia are displayed in four large halls.
Picnic and barbecue facilities are available. Adding to this impressive fortification is its unique location with sweeping views over the ocean and around to the harbour, all nestled amongst the natural flora and fauna of North Head and the Sydney Harbour National Park. There is also North Fort Cafe which serves lunch, espresso coffee and other refreshments which can be enjoyed along with the best views in Sydney of the harbour.
Large groups must make appointments to see the museum.
